Infracost and our own Cossell added to automated hackathon scoring
Exciting news is coming out of StackRef HQ as we announce the addition of two new automated judging tools for hackathons: Infracost and Cossell!
Infracost
As part of our commitment to promoting innovation, we have always aimed to include cost projection as a key judging component of a hackathon. With the integration of Infracost, teams can submit their infrastructure-as-code (IaC) as part of their project and receive real-time feedback on the cost of their resources. This not only encourages teams to adopt cost-efficient practices, but also helps them build scalable, production-ready applications.
Cossell
But that’s not all. We’re also introducing our own AI-powered “stack referee” named Cossell. Cossell evaluates teams' submissions based on their overall purpose and provides its own commentary and scoring based on code smells, complexity, and security. By removing any inherent biases and presenting a clear picture of a team’s submission, Cossell helps judges make more informed evaluations.
This is just the beginning of the automation tools we have planned for StackRef. We believe that the demonstration of an idea is only one part of what makes a successful innovation. With these new tools, we’re making it easier for teams to build efficient, scalable applications and for judges to evaluate them objectively.
We’ve got more plays in our playbook to run, so stay tuned!
